Welcome to
Prospect Park South

Nestled in the heart of Victorian Flatbush is an enclave of about two hundred homes built at the century near the southern edge of Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

Take the B/Q to Church or Beverley

As long-time resident Gloria Fisher put it, "We took a 'wrong' turn into the 'right' community," and she has called Prospect Park South home for over 40 years. Situated just off the park and the Parade Grounds, Prospect Park South is a quaint neighborhood that's just two blocks long between Church Ave. and Beverley Rd by four blocks wide from Stratford Rd. to Buckingham Rd.

Step back in time...

Prospect Park South is a suburban neighborhood in Brooklyn that consists of two hundred and six homes designed by developer and architect Dean Alvord in 1899. If you take a stroll around, you'll see an eclectic mix of homes from Queen Anne to Italianate to Colonial Revivals to Tudor and even a Japanese. To dive further into the history of this neighborhood as a whole and learn about each house, check out The Prospect Park South book.

Preserving our community

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated Prospect Park South Historic District in 1979, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Prospect Park South Association

Dean Alvord imagined bringing the countryside to New York City well over 100 years ago. Thanks to The Prospect Park South Association's diligent work in preserving the community's rich heritage, charm, and character, that dream is still a reality.

Our mission: The Prospect Park South Association is a neighborhood association dedicated to preserving and enhancing the architecture, beauty, and tranquility of the Prospect Park South landmark neighborhood and promoting a sense of community and pride in our landmark neighborhood among its homeowners through social, educational, and cultural activities.

Join us in our mission to protect and enhance the beauty of Prospect Park South.
